The World According to Monsieur Khiar selected for ‘Gouden Kalf’ Competition at Netherlands Film Festival 2016

The World According to Monsieur Khiar by Sjors Swierstra is selected for the ‘Gouden Kalf’ Competition in the category Short Documentary, of the Netherlands Film Festival 2016. The filmfestival takes place in Utrecht from September 21 until September 30 2016.

The film on photographer Jeroen Robert Kramer screens on:

– Monday September 26 2016, 2.30 pm: Wolff City 3 (Dutch subtitles)

– Tuesday September 27 2016, 9.45 pm: Louis Hartlooper Complex 3 (English subtitles)

The ‘Gouden Kalf’ for best Short Documentary is awarded during the Gala of the Dutch Film, Friday September 30 2016. The category is awarded by a selected jury of professionals. Tickets for the screenings are on sale from September 7 via the Netherlands Film Festival.

The World According to Monsieur Khiar  is a coproduction by Memphis Film & Television and the NTR. The film is realized with the support of Mediafonds, VSB Fonds and the Stichting Democratie en Media. The film festively premiered during IDFA 2015. After the premiere the film screened at NPO2 with Het Uur van de Wolf in March 2016, and it screened continuously for three months during the Une Femme exhibition by Jeroen Robert Kramer in Huis Marseille.

The film has been previously selected for the Documentarist – 9th Istanbul Documentary Days that took place in Turkey in May and the film screened at Forum des Images in Paris in the context of the 100% DOC programma. Also the film has been selected for the 37e Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival in Macedonia in September 2016.
