From September 24 to September 30, everyone can attend seven festival premieres in the country in national cinemas during the Netherlands Film Festival at the same time as the premiere in Utrecht. In addition to The Photograph by Sherman De Jesus, the national premiere program includes the opening film My father is a plane by Antoinette Beumer and the closing film Nr. 10 by Alex van Warmerdam.
The Photograph is a breathtaking film that gives us a look at our changing world inspired by New York photographer James Van Der Zee. One hundred years later, the portrait James Van Der Zee made of his grandfather in Harlem takes the filmmaker back to this magical place in New York. That one photo turns out to lead to thousands of special stories. A cinematic ode to the residents of Harlem, about pride, tradition and the power of the image.
Tickets go on sale at the beginning of September. For more information, see filmfestival.nl.
