    NPO 2

The documentary Broken can be seen on Monday October 18 at 20.25 on NPO 2. What impact does it have on your life when one of your parents disappears from your life after a divorce, due to the actions of the other parent? Rianne (42) and Frénk (63) experienced this as children. In Broken they reflect on the time when they were faced with impossible choices by the adults in their lives. The choices they made at the time turned out to be based on the lies, resentment and pain of others, which they accepted as true as children. How do they feel about disowning their parent, now that after many years they can also color in the other half of the truth?

Director Nan Rosens fuses the stories of Rianne and Frénk into one story about how you choose your own truth and how difficult it is to let go of the loyalty you feel as a child for one parent in order to reunite with the other parent. The documentary Broken offers a valuable insight into the future that awaits today’s divorced children.

2Doc: Broken, Monday October 18, 20.25 at KRO-NCRV on NPO 2.
